You listen to live recordings through the 3.5mm port. You connect any headphones to that. The transmitters have a built-in omnidirectional microphone. You attach the clip on the back of the transmitter to your neck to record voice directly. It is also possible to connect a lavalier microphone via the MIC IN port. The BY-XM series comes as a complete set, including lavalier microphone and charging cables.
